The One Who Makes Me Cringe
There are certain people I have come across or know of that I don’t fancy as much as others might. Yet everyone has people in their life that they don’t like too much. I think people judge other on the base of their personality and their actions. This is how I differentiate friends from foe, or someone I do not like cause of how they go about themselves. However someone that I choose not to like is based off of personal encounters or experiences.
This person whom I do not associate with attended school with me while I was at St. Edward. He is white and from a Italian background and grew up in a wealthy family who treated him well. His dad owned some beverage stores that he worked at. He had good grades as well and still did after we weren’t friends anymore. So this is a respect I still have for him. Body wise he is about 5ft 7inches average height and has a slim, but stocky body frame. He weighed about one hundred-fifty pounds maybe a little lighter. His clothes consisted of pricey clothes or athletic clothing. His shoes went along with what he was wearing at the time athletic or casual. However his appearance helps you notice his cocky side, like when he said to me “I get the nicest clothes, no one has style like me”.
There are habits that he has that make him a less likable from my standpoint. One of his habits consists of lying repulsively. The thing is I use to be friends with him until his true self starting showing. He then started lying about idiotic things that didn’t need to be lied about. For example he would lie about doing things he wasn’t. One time my friend Kevin and I were supposed to go to a cavalier’s game and invited him. We were all ready to go and then a last minute call came. He had said that he couldn’t go anymore he had a family emergency. This was fine with Kevin and I we understood so we didn’t care. Later we found out that he had lied and ditched the game to go to a party. This was a turning point in the friendship. What made this a bad situation was he could have just told us he wanted to go to this party and I would have been fine with it and found another friend to go to the game. It was just a shock in the sense of why lie to your friends. Yet it got worse and worse with the lying about him doing something but really doing something else.
He then started hanging out with the wrong people got even cockier with himself. I think he believed hanging with those people made him cooler, when in reality it made him fake. Everything about him changed he talked like he was a big shot now. His tone through his talking consisted of a lot of sarcasm and big headedness. When making eye contact with him it is like looking into nothing I just see a friend I use to have. I wasn’t the only or friend that noticed him change for other people. He lost a lot of old friends that use to affiliate with him. Others felt he lost his true self became someone he is not. He became a big partier, seemed to be all that mattered. I guess in the end people should change to appease others and become someone they aren’t?
